Maru Craft

I  see  weaving  as  the  heritage  of  my family. It has been my family profession from my great grandfathers. My entire family is practicing this craft currently. My father has always inspired me to look weaving as the pride of the family. He was honored with National Award in the year 1996 for weaving. So, I always kept myself engaged in household weaving activities and stepped into the weaving  profession  in  the  year  2012  after  my graduation.

I  took  weaving  as  my  full-time  profession  after completing  my  diploma  course  in  Design  and Entrepreneurship  from  “The  Handloom  School Maheshwar-  Madhya  Pradesh”.  The  certificate course helped in broaden my skills in designing, marketing and presentation of my craft. In the year 2015  after  my  course  we  have  established  our own  brand  name  as  “Maru  Craft”  to  our  family business to promote is a social entity as the name “Maru” depicts our 'Vankar Maru Community'.

The  distinctiveness  of  Maru  Craft  is  extra  weft weaving blend with Suf embroidery which is one of the finest embroidery forms of Kutch. We are also specialized in Eri by cotton weave with loose warp and  weft  settings  on  loom  using  multi  dent warping technique which gives unique texture and feel to the fabric.
